I’m a first generation Latina college student. I love Disneyland despite the fact that my favorite movie is Shrek (the first one is the best). Also, my favorite color is pink!

What I'm most looking forward to as a STEM Navigator: Being there for other first generation college students when they feel like they are in this alone and to give them first hand experience and advice to guide students to pursue their best selves in the STEM community.

I have always had the passion of learning how to code in different computer languages and explore the vast fields of information technologies. Other than that, I love traveling and exploring various cultures and perspectives around the world. This upcoming year is my last year at Ventura College and then I will be transferring to a four year college. Additionally, I love spending time with my family and go hiking with my sister.
Fun fact: I can communicate in five different languages which allows me to interact with people of various cultures and ethnicities
What I'm most looking forward to as a STEM Navigator: This is an excellent opportunity for me to explore and learn peer mentor skills allowing me to experience something new and helping STEM students out with the best of my abilities. Being a STEM student myself, this position will expose me to new ideas and perspectives that will definitely help me in the long run.

I enjoy chemistry and science in general because I like learning about how the world works. I also like to watch movies for entertainment and some of my favorites are The Princess and the Frog by Disney and There Will Be Blood. plan on transfering in Fall 2023 and minoring in astronomy or biology.
Fun Fact: I love graphic novels and my favorite is probably Frankenstein by Junji Ito.
What I'm looking forward to as a STEM Navigator: I am hoping to spread encouragement and be supportive. I understand how daunting STEM classes and college in general can be so I wish to help alleviate some stress and be there for students who need help.

I was afraid to ask questions when I first arrived at VC and understand that it's not always easy asking for help.
