On the first day of 2021 clinicals, VC Nursing students assist with COVID vaccinations. Throughout the year of 2020, students have watched frontline healthcare workers give their all. They have watched with a variety of emotions of how workers in the health care industry face this deadly virus. While they may have a variety emotions, one stands out: determination. Nursing students are determined to be a vital part of the healthcare team. Today, eight, 2nd-semester nursing students were able to participate in the St. John’s Regional Medical Center Covid Vaccination Clinic. What an overwhelming feeling to be a part of history! Students were able to give over 100 healthcare workers vaccines today. From administration to food service workers, physicians to nurses on the Covid units, the students were able to administer vaccines that will hopefully turn the tides of this pandemic. While many health care workers came to the clinic with weariness from caring so hard for others, so many more came with hope. Hope that we will see the other side of this pandemic. Today, these nursing students truly were a part of a community: a community of Ventura and health care workers. What an amazing day to give back to the health care workers who have given so much!
