As Executive Director of the Ventura College Foundation, it gives me great pleasure to share some very good news! I know we could all use some good news right about now.
We have 427 reasons to celebrate, on April 16, 2020, the Foundation awarded 427 scholarships to Ventura College students. The news gets even better- we awarded the largest annual scholarship distribution in the history of the organization.

The Foundation’s goal this awarding year was to provide more impactful support to students so it might be possible to eliminate one ten-hour a week part-time job, spend more time focused on their studies, and successfully accomplish their academic pursuits. For our 2020-21 scholarship recipients, the funds couldn’t come at a better time because of the economic impact felt by students due to COVID-19.
None of this would be possible without our remarkable employee donors who contribute to scholarships through employee payroll deductions, monthly credit card or cash donations, and the establishment of an endowed or annual scholarship fund! Your generosity and support allow Ventura College students to break through their barriers to achieve their academic dreams. It is such a privilege to work with our visionary and big-hearted employee donors who believe in the power of education to give economic resilience to every member of our community.
