The Gene Haas Foundation has made a $250,000 naming rights gift in support of the Advanced Manufacturing program at Ventura College.
This investment will be used to relocate the manufacturing shop to the Applied Science Center, ASC 120, and create the Gene Haas Advanced Manufacturing Lab. Renovations will take place during the spring 2020 semester. The college plans to offer manufacturing courses in its new home starting in fall 2020. This state-of-the art facility will promote manufacturing occupations and enhance workforce manufacturing skills to benefit the entire county.
Ventura College has also entered into an agreement with Haas Automation Inc. to entrust a ST-10 lathe to the manufacturing program. The entrustment will further enhance the college’s efforts to maintain a manufacturing lab that reflects industry standards. The new equipment will allow students to work directly with industry-level machines, which will increase their readiness and competitiveness in the workforce.
