How long have you worked for the district?
I have worked for the district for seven years. I started at Moorpark College as the Executive Assistant to the President, transferred to the district office to be the Executive Assistant to the Vice Chancellor, Educational Services, and then found my home at Ventura College in 2017.
Were you a student at one of the district’s colleges and if so which one? What was your major and your degree?
I did not attend a VCCCD college. I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in political science from California State University, Fullerton.
Are you from the area and if not where are you from?
I grew up in Rancho Cucamonga. I spent most of my young adult life in Los Angeles and then moved to Ojai in 2011.
Share something personal about yourself: (ex: pets, hobbies, what are you currently watching/listening to and why you enjoy it)
I am married and have a 5-year-old son and two Weimaraners. We live in a small canyon community surrounded by the national forest, so we often stay local to hike, swim, and explore nature together. I love to play sports and stay active, anything that feeds my competitive nature. My entertainment is typically dictated by a 5-year-old; currently, we read or watch anything by Dav Pilkey. The Dark Tower by Stephen King is my favorite book series. My favorite movie of all time is The Princess Bride.
What do you find rewarding about your job or career?
I am rewarded by running an administrative office efficiently and effectively and helping create successes for my boss, but what truly makes my job special is when I am able to serve students and witness their successes.
