Henry Schwab Violin & Viola Competition
Dear Music Teachers, Music Students & Music Lovers:
We're pleased to announce the 13th Annual Henry Schwab Violin and Viola Competition! With a $2000 top prize, and the chance to perform in front of our audience and amazing judges, you don't want to miss this opportunity!
IMPORTANT DATES:
- Application Deadline: April 23 at Midnight
- Preliminary Auditions: April 29 & 30
- Competition Finals: July 22 & 23
WHAT DO I NEED TO PREPARE FOR THE PRELIMINARY?
- Prepare one movement from a concerto to be performed at the final.
- Prepare a Bach partita (sheet music may be used).
RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS
The Competition is open to:
- Registered residents of Ventura or Santa Barbara counties.
- Students residing and studying in Ventura or Santa Barbara counties, currently studying with an established string instructor in Ventura County
- Students registered for the 2023 Schwab Summer Academy
- All Schwab Academy students - regardless of their residency location - are eligible to apply and compete.
