10:19 AM - 10:20 AM

International Shakeout Day 10/19 at 10:19 a.m.

As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance our emergency preparedness, we will be participating in the Great ShakeOut, a global earthquake drill, on October 19th at 10:19 a.m.  This annual event is an excellent opportunity to practice how to "Drop, Cover, and Hold On" in the event of an earthquake. We encourage you to take part!

What to Expect: At precisely 10:19 a.m. on October 19,  you will receive an announcement to initiate the earthquake drill. When you hear the announcement, please "Drop, Cover, and Hold On" immediately. This means dropping to the ground, and taking cover under a sturdy piece of furniture if available. In the event of a real earthquake you would hold-on until the "shaking" stops. After the shaking has stopped, we would receive further instructions regarding evacuation procedures or any other necessary steps.

Why It Matters: Earthquakes can happen unexpectedly, and being prepared can make a significant difference in your safety. This drill allows us to practice and improve our response to an earthquake scenario, ensuring that we are better equipped to protect ourselves and each other in the event of a real earthquake. Participating in the Great ShakeOut gives us an opportunity to strengthen our commitment to safety.

Mark your calendars for Thursday, October 19 at 10:19 a.m.

Stay safe and prepared!
