For almost 50 years, Ventura College has been committed to providing educational access to the Santa Clara River Valley communities of Fillmore, Piru and Santa Paula (1970s: Bilingual Vocational Education Program; 1980s: Bilingual Vocational Arts; 1990s: Santa Paula Vocational Center, and 2000s: Ventura College East Campus). Since it was established, the East Campus has met the needs of the community by providing quality career technical education programs, academic programs, and access to highly qualified faculty and student support staff that are committed to the success of our students.
VCEC currently offers three associate degrees (Arts and Humanities, Behavioral and Social Sciences and our newest degree in Veterinary Science). Along with these degrees, students can obtain various Certificates of Achievement in Administrative Assistance, Medical Assistance, and Veterinary Assistance. Students are also able to take general education transfer courses, other career technical education courses and English as a Second Language (ESL) courses.
VCEC offers student services to all Ventura College students and prospective students. Bilingual (English/Spanish) staff, including full-time Academic Counselors and Student Services Assistant are on site to assist students with educational planning, admissions, and registration. Additional services include financial aid assistance, MyVCCCD student portal support, payments, Career Center advising, and Student Health Center resources.
Our Library and Learning Resource Center is open to all Ventura College students and is a place for students to do research, write and print class papers, check out books via inter-library loan and the Lending Library, access online classes, and work with software programs for their specific classes. Math tutoring and Wi-Fi are available.
VCEC is a model on how institutions of higher learning can combine innovative programs, student support, and instruction technologies to provide outstanding learning opportunities and community services. The East Campus also serves as the center of operations for Ventura College Off-Campus Programs, including Dual Enrollment.
