County Transportation Resources

The Ventura County Transportation Commission has extended the "Free Fare Days" through June 2025. Anyone may ride the bus for free on these dates:

  • Transit Equity Day (February 4)
  • Earth Day (April 22)
  • Dump the Pump Day (June 17)

The College Ride Program is a pilot program that is also continuing until June 2025. This incredible opportunity allows VC students to ride the bus anywhere in Ventura County for FREE.

The following operators are among those participating: Gold Coast, Moorpark, Camarillo, Simi Valley, and Thousand Oaks transit, Ojai Trolley, Valley Express, Kanan Shuttle, and the VCTC Intercity Transit Service. If you are also taking classes at UCSB or SBCC you are still  eligible to ride VC bus operators for free.

You will need a valid student ID in order for the driver to let you board for free.

  • Show (or tap) your ID for the driver.
  • If you do not have your ID, show the driver your class schedule.
  • Don't have a VC ID Card?  Visit the ASVC Office or CLICK HERE.
  • Have questions?  Contact the Basic Needs Center at (805) 289-6583 for more information.
