Starting February 2, 2024, CCCApply will be integrating identity verification through ID.me. ID.me will help protect student identities and prevent fraudulent students from taking spots in classes at Ventura College.
Certain populations of students won't be able to use or be required to use ID.me:
- No valid identity documentation from country of origin
- No permanent address (housing insecure/homeless/unhoused)
- No internet access or a smartphone (incarcerated/justice-involved)
- Minors (under the age of 18)
- Foster youth or juvenile justice students who are wards of the court
For students that aren’t able to use ID.me, there will be 24/7 student support that will allow you to connect via live chat to verify your identity.
Acceptable Documents for Identity Verification:
For us to verify your identity, you must provide two documents:
- One Photo Identification - For example: State identification (ID) card, Driver license, Permanent Resident Card, Passport, or Employment Authorization Document
- One Identity Document - Employment record (e.g. paystub), address verification (Any bill or financial statement showing your name and residence address), or Official birth certificate (with official translation, if any)
ID.me is the fastest and quickest option to verify your identity, allowing you to enroll and register for classes sooner, so we highly encourage all students to use this expedited process.
Note: This is an optional requirement for students. It will not prevent a student from submitting an application for admission if they decline to verify their identity via ID.me.
If you’re currently enrolled, these changes will not impact you at this time. They will come into effect if you have a lapse of enrollment over one year and need to reapply.
